Communities for Development was created in 2014 to support rural communities in Uganda achieve sustainable growth and reduce poverty by improving their financial ability to cover their basic needs. We provide training in microfinance to give them the necessary tools and knowledge to make better use of their money and enable them to start their own businesses. We make this happen by creating saving groups and providing training in income generation activities.
The benefits of our programmes are not only financial but have a wider impact. Weekly meetings and training, strengthens the community spirit and togetherness. Those who have successful businesses also reach out to help others. People with an improved income can also reduce their reliance on their land and natural resources and can attain better homes, a better diet, better health and better opportunities. Quality of life improves.
Sustainable self-development- significant , , long lasting improvements in the developing world can only truly be made by who live there. Therefore we think its integral that the people we are helping are at the heart of their development.
Community integration, the power of a group or a team is much more than an individual and therefore all our programs focus on the importance of working together and helping others.
Efficient and Effective Administration, due to our small size and our all-volunteer team all donations go straight to the projects out in Uganda.
